Birmingham Phoenix s vs Southern Brave Betting Winner Prediction
Recommended Bet: Back the Birmingham Phoenix to win @ 2.32
The best betting sites in India have the Southern Brave as favourites and it’s easy to see why.
They’re the defending champions and they started the season in style with an extremely comfortable win over the Welsh Fire, chasing just 108 to win, which they did with a massive 31 balls to spare.
On the one hand, that shows just how well they bowled and how clinical they were in the chase.
On the other hand, chasing such a low total doesn’t really give us an indication of how strong their batting actually is when properly tested.
The Phoenix suffered very different fortunes in their first match, losing to the Trent Rockets.
But they didn’t do too much wrong, posting a competitive total on the board and making a decent fist of defending it.
They were just a tad unlucky that they ran into an inspired Alex Hales on the day.
And it’s also true that the Brave won this fixture last year, meaning the Phoenix won’t have fond memories of playing the defending champs.
But despite all that, we’re going to take a gamble on the hosts at odds that are bigger than what they should be.
They’re at home, they’re a good side and this is a fickle format with a small sample of games to be judging too much this early.
Let’s hope it comes off.

Birmingham Phoenix vs Southern Brave Betting Hot Bet Prediction
Recommended Bet: Back James Vince to be Southern Brave Top Batsman @ 3.25 with Betway
‘Sometimes it’s not worth over complicating things’ was the first line of my Hot Prediction ahead of the Southern Brave v Welsh Fire match where I tipped Brave skipper James Vince to be their top batsman.
Vince didn’t complicate anything. Instead, he went out and hit 71 off 41 in typical Vince fashion to deliver us a winner at 3.5.
That should have come as no surprise.
He’s an excellent white-ball batsman with a superb record in this competition, having been in the Top 3 for highest runscorers last year.
And he’s obviously in form after that knock and will continue to bat in the Top 3, whether as an opener again or down at number three with Quinton de Kock returning.
That’s a lot of ticked boxes for a top batsman and 3.25 is a perfectly decent price on him winning again.

Venue & conditions
144/6, 144/6, 172/3 and 184/5 were the first innings scores here at Edgbaston last year.
And no, those first two scores weren’t a typo: the first two games really did produce a first innings score of exactly 144/6 on both occasions.
So that’s an average of 161, making it one of the higher-scoring grounds in the competition.
The first three matches were won by the chaser with only the Phoenix’s 184/5 being successfully defended, meaning the side chasing here may have the slight edge.
The forecast is good and it should be nice and sunny, so further reasons to think this might be a high-scoring match.
